Meet Maria and her tutor, Linda. When Maria enrolled in One-to-One Adult Literacy Partners in 2015, she did not feel comfortable speaking to others in English. She wanted to improve her English speaking skills for work, for talking to her grandchildren, and for passing the U.S. Citizenship test. With the help of her tutor, Linda, Maria achieved all of those goals, and then some. To become a better writer in English, Maria wrote stories, including a story about her favorite color of beige. Congratulations, Maria and Linda, on what you have accomplished together!
