Grab the family and come on down to Manitowoc Public Library on August 4th for our Family Carnival Event!  We will be wrapping up the “Build a Better World” Summer Reading Program with games and activities for the whole family!

Activities for our younger friends include a Bubble Blast, Ducks in a Pool, Sidewalk Chalk and a tour of a fire truck.  Older kids will love the Squirt Gun Art, Pool Noodle Obstacle Course and Face Painting.  Teens can participate in a Water Balloon Catapult, get creative with spray dye in the BYO t-Shirts design space, or go crazy with Battle of the Rock Band. Plus, there will be giant cut-out photo ops and cooling stations for everyone to enjoy, and an opportunity to submerge the library Director in a dunk tank over and over again! And if you work up a snack appetite (a “snacketite, if you will) from all the fun, we’ll have food trucks on the premises with treats available for purchase. As if that wasn’t enough, door prizes to be raffled-off for free at the top of every carnival hour.

All the fun begins at 1:00 PM and runs until 4:00 PM. So, come one, come all to the greatest time you could possibly have on Quay Street during the first week of August!

Manitowoc Public Library is excited to announce a kite building activity happening at 12 PM on August 4th, just prior to the Grand Finale Carnival!  Chow from Unique Flying Objects in Two Rivers will show kids how to “Build a Better Kite”!  This event will take place in the Children’s Department and families will get a chance to build a kite and then take it outside to fly it!  One kite per family and registration is REQUIRED.  Please call Manitowoc Public Library Children’s Department at (920)686-3030 to register.
