Program Description

Event Details

Here’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring young writers in our community—a FREE workshop with New York Times bestselling author, Sarah Vowell, in Manitowoc Public Library’s Balkansky Community Room at 1 PM on Thursday, July 14. Participants will learn to evaluate their writing compositions and apply writing techniques and strategies to their own writing. Sarah will take questions from the students about writing, storytelling, and research, as well as share stories of her own process and finding her voice. This event is for those age 11 through 18-years old and registration is required. Space is limited!

Sarah Vowell, in addition to being a New York Times bestselling author, is a historian, a contributing editor for the public radio show "This American Life" from 1996-2008 (where she produced numerous commentaries and documentaries and toured the country in many of the program’s live shows), and star of Pixar Studio's "The Incredibles" animated film series, lending her talents to create the voice of Violet Parr.
