Dust Off Your Treasures! Antique Appraisal Event with Mark Moran at Manitowoc Public Library

Calling all history buffs, collectors, and curious minds! Manitowoc Public Library is thrilled to announce Extra/Ordinary: Antique Appraisals by Mark Moran. This event is a unique opportunity to learn the value and stories behind your cherished antiques with renowned expert, Mark Moran. This exciting program, taking place on Thursday, March 14, from 1-4 PM, will allow you to have one of your prized possessions evaluated by Mr. Moran himself, gaining valuable insights into its origin, historical significance, and potential worth. So, don’t hem and haw too much! Dust off that family heirloom handed down through generations and register!

Mark Moran is a veteran in the world of antiques with a keen eye for a wide range of collectibles. You might remember Mark from the PBS program, “Antiques Roadshow,” where he appeared as a Guest Expert for nine seasons. But, his experience doesn’t end there—Mark served as the senior editor of Antiques and Collectibles Books for Krause Publications in Wisconsin and as a contributing editor for Antique Trader magazine. He is the author or co-author of more than twenty-five books on antiques and collectibles, including three editions of the annual, Warman’s Antiques & Collectibles. Mark Moran’s evaluations are informative and insightful, but they are not intended for insurance or charitable donation purposes, which require certified appraisals.

Mark has bought, sold, and been active as an evaluator of antiques for more than thirty years. He specializes in vintage folk art, Americana, and fine art. What treasure of yours awaits discovery? Items that are eligible for evaluation at this event include; fine art, furniture, vintage photographs, costume jewelry, sporting memorabilia, and timepieces. Please be aware that some items are excluded from the event, such as weapons, fine jewelry, and Beanie Babies. Limited slots are available, so mark your calendars and register early! Registration kicks off on Monday, February 26, at 5 PM and closes on Wednesday, March 13, at 8 PM.
