Get book recommendations sent to your email!

You’ve just finished reading (or listening) to an amazing book, and all the books on your “must read” list are crossed off. Now what? You may have a go-to person who gives you recommendations, or you may stop at your local library and chat with the staff to see what they recommend (which we highly suggest you continue to do). But what if you could have a newsletter sent straight to your email, tailored to your interests, that link straight to your local library’s catalog?

Have I got your attention yet? Let me tell you about this great new resource Manitowoc Public Library is taking advantage of, through the generosity of Manitowoc-Calumet Library System, called NextReads.

When you sign up for NextReads, you will select as many topics/genres that pique your interest. NextReads then curates a list based on your interests, and sends you a newsletter each month for every genre you select. Each title in the newsletter then links directly back to our library’s catalog, where you can place a hold. There are many newsletters you can request to receive such as: Thrillers & Suspense, Audiobooks, Picture Books, “Must Reads,” New York Times Bestsellers, and SO much more!

On occasion, you may even get recommendations for titles we do not have. But do not worry, you can easily request our library purchase this title, or get it from another library. You can do that by emailing us at mplservice@manitowoc.org, by calling 920-686-3010, or by filling out a materials request form on our website (under Books & More > Materials Request Form).

Want in? Signing up is a breeze, and can be done multiple ways! You can stop at our main Service Desk and fill out a flyer and have a staff member sign you up. You can click on the NextReads banner on our website (www.manitowoclibrary.org), or you can visit our website and browse all the premium online resources we have to offer (https://www.manitowoclibrary.org/resources/premium-online-resources) – you may even find other resources you didn’t know we had!
